Our 2023 Class outline is below.

Beginning herb program spring/summer 2023. Classes will start in May and run through October. All classes will be on a Sunday. Classes will run 10-3 in person only.

Please bring a lunch we will eat together during our discussion time. We will be outside the whole time so dress appropriately. There will be homework, please bring a notebook and pen.

The full program will cost $500 (this will include Mary Blues Herbal Foundations book), I ask that you pay ½ when you register, and the remaining amount will be split and due at the remaining classes, if you are unable to attend classes you will forfeit your deposit. You can mail a check to me (Erin Ethier) or meet up to pay. If you are paying online it is for the full amount with an extra $15 added for credit card processing fees. If you are unable to pay with this schedule, we can possibly work something else out. Class size is limited so please sign up early. You can email me directly to register. No pets of any kind are allowed on the property because of our own animals, thanks for your understanding. There is also no smoking on the property.

For those interested in class but need to set up a different payment schedule let me know and we can definitely work something out. I ask that you pay $100 to hold your spot.

My tentative schedule looks like this. There will be at least 6 days of classes. We may be able to add another day and maybe do a fieldtrip for some foraging/Plant ID off the property depending on timing and schedules.

 I have decided to have these as individual classes as well for those who don’t want to take the whole program. If you don’t sign up for the program you will not receive the Herbal Foundations book but you have the option to purchase it separately. If you would like to pay with Cash or a Check (made out to Erin Ethier) the cost is $95 and the deposit is 1/2 of that, then you can pay the remaining when you come to class. The online cost is $100 to cover processing fees, full payment due when paying online.

May 7th – Planting seeds and transplants. Soil. Materia Medica. Herbs that grow well in our area. Making herbal honey and vinegars.

June 11th – Herbs for nervous system. Plant energetics. Salve making

July 16th – Tea making, dosage, measuring, storing, harvesting, drying and more.

August 13th - Flower essences and Tinctures. Plant ID,

September 10th – Herbs for immune and respiratory support. Materia Medica

October 15th – Roots and more

Some other areas of focus that we will talk about throughout will be:

Propagation: starting seeds, seed germination methods, propagation via cuttings. Greenhouse growing methods, seed saving, raised beds

Field prep: making beds, using amendments, vermiculture, compost, soil health

Sharing, discussing, and questions

Other processing methods like making oils

Ways to integrate herbs into our lives
